In the Research Festival I'm going to display a publication on the table. Experiential research is central to my practice and a photographic book would communicate this well. I plan to have photos I have taken in Nature, such as the forms of trees. The opposite pages could have short poetic phrases like 'dappled light'. I could include my artist's statement on the first page, linking my research to my practice. I will call the book 'Beauty in the Sombre'. It could have a black and Neon Green aesthetic, linking to the gothic aesthetic of my paintings with contrasting colours. I would like the book to be small, around A4 or A5 size, mirroring a sentimentality towards emotional experiences in Nature; a smaller book lends to more introverted reflection. The book is going to be printed on shiny pages as I was inspired by Chrystel Lebas's photography books featuring forests.
